| BIO-MECHANICAL APPROACH FOR MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF BIOFILMS |
| Biofilms are home for the most part of existing microorganisms in the world. A recent development in the bio-catalisys is using biofilms to immobilize the catalizing bacteria. Therefore a predective model is needed. A short overview over existing models will be given. And then a new idea of coupling mechanical properties of the single cell with the biochemistry in one continuous model will be proposed. |
