NUMERICAL SCHEME FOR CURVATURE FLOW ON THE PLANE
The curvature flow on the plane (curve shortening flow) descibes curve evolution governed by nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation of geometric type.

Focused numerical scheme is based on simple finite element method discretization respect to space and finite differences for time derivative approximation. Some details about discretization method will be given.

Basic example model of contour detection in image processing, developed with curve shortening equations will be discused.
