GROWTH INDUCED STRESS - MODELLING APPROACH |
Growing cell colonies produce internal stress, which
originates in the multiplication of cells. This stress
leads to the spread of the colony and is responsible for
the pattern formation.
In this talk a mathematical model will be presented, which
is able to capture the main feature of the growth induced
stress. A system of nonlinear partial differential
equations derived from 'first principles' is used.
